It is officially the start of spring. On the Rick (Ricardo) Vargas Southfield blog, today’s blog post is about the freshness that spring brings. What Does Spring Bring?
Spring brings a breath of fresh air to this time of year. After getting through several rough winter months, and gloomy, gray weather, it is now time to welcome spring and the newness that it brings. Grass turns green, flowers bloom, and we see new leaves on all of the trees.
Springs brings a sense of excitement, a sense of newness. A way to start fresh and start over. Upbeat music helps achieve this feeling through light, airy music with positive lyrics. Music is so important to get to a mental space where you feel like you can start fresh. Music that has sad lyrics, or an overall feeling of heaviness will not be something one wants to listen to at this time of the year.
Creating Music
Creating music throughout the year is aided by the season you are writing the music for. If you get stuck, just think about the season you want the music to be played in. Spring and summer have similar feels and you can get away with music with similar tempos. Fall and winter are bringing on the colder weather, falling leaves, and snow. Heavier feeling music, with deeper lyrics, and slower tempos are certainly warranted at that time of year.
Enjoy the season, listen to some great music, and get pumped for the summer!
